Daryl L. Chess

Daryl L. Chess, Hempfield Twp. Greenville passed away at 12:00 am on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at his residence.  He was 60.

Daryl was born in Greenville on January 25, 1955 a son of David M. and Patricia J. Pressler.  He was a 1973 graduate of the Commodore Perry High School.  He was married to the former Ardella Burgess who survives.  He was a self employed truck driver and most recently had been hauling logs and providing transportation to the local Amish community.  He had also worked in his early years as a mechanic for his Uncle Dale Chess at Chess Service in Sheakleyville.  He was an avid outdoorsman, where he often found himself hunting out West and fishing in Canada with his friends.  He attended the North Salem Wesleyan Methodist Church. Greenville.

He is survived by his wife, his mother Patricia and her husband Rev. D. Neville of Greenville, 2 sons, Mark Chess and his wife Selina of Sheakleyville and Michael Chess of Greenville, two sisters, Sharon White and her fiancée Lee Courtney of Transfer and Connie Hoch and her husband Timothy of Greenville. Two grandchildren, Matthew and Karleigh Chess of Sheakleyville.

He was preceded in death by his father and a son Matthew Adam Chess.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 3223 Perry Hwy., Sheakleyville with Rev. Michael D. Marshall, pastor of the North Salem Wesleyan Methodist Church officiating.  The interment with committal prayers will follow at the Stevenson Cemetery.  Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 2:00- 4:00 and 7:00-9:00 pm and are invited to share memories and condolences online with the family at www.snyderfh.com.

The family has suggested that memorial tributes may be made to the family through the funeral home to help defray expenses.
