I always called (Hoagie) Bill before Christmas & our shared birthday January 4th. When I tried several times without success I knew something happened but couldn't reach anyone else by phone.
He & I had been friends for decades & will miss him forever. My prayers, sympathy & thoughts go out to all who shared their love of him. He may not have always showed his love but it was there.
Bill love you forever,
Joyce

My brother Bill would tell me all the time that he used to change my diaper! He was 15 years older than me. I was always so mortified when he would tell me that!! Through the years we saw each other when he came to Texas. He was so tall and I loved to hear him talk - the sound of his voice and his Northern accent. I am sorry we did not keep in touch more. I always loved my big brother and I always will!!

Even though my dad was not close with his other five children, I do have fond memories that I will always tuck away in my heart and want to share. Some of the things I want to remember about my dad is how he loved classic country music like Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings. I remember that he was an avid hunter and would get together with my grandpa Joe sometimes and his other friends and go hunting. He would take my brother Lewis, sister Eileen, and me along too. He favored Dodge automobiles and trucks. I will never forget that purple Dodge Challenger he had. He would let me watch sometimes when he worked on cars. He would ask me to pass him tools and that is where I picked up a few things that I could use later in life. I recall how he would get together with his buddies and host card games. He loved to drink his Jack Daniels. My dad enjoyed watching football and boxing. I can't forget how he would be glued to the TV watching a Muhammad Ali fight, and screaming "ALI" when he was socking it to his opponent. Back in the day when it was still legal to ride in the back of a pick-up, that's what we would do. He would pick us up and take us to the Jug Handle in Transfer. I'm not sure if that place is even still there. When we were on one of his jobs and living in Shaver Lake California, we took a trip to Fresno and San Francisco. We were driving past an area where all you could see for miles and miles was orange trees. I asked him to stop so I could pick an orange, and to my surprise he did. My dad was also a Veteran. He served in the US Army for 3 years as a Radar Plotter. It hurts deeply that we didn't get an opportunity to see my dad and say our good-byes to him. I will treasure the good memories I have of him, and use them to honor his memory.
