My heart aches for you Ms. Donna and the Walker family to lose in death your precious loved one Mr. Gordon. Words are so limited that can give comfort, so I would like to share with you beautiful scripture where our loving heavenly Father, Jehovah God (Psalm 83:18), wants you to throw all your burdens on him and he will sustain you in your time of grief because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7, Psalm 34:18
None of us are guaranteed tomorrow, but we are all guaranteed a resurrection.
Our precious savior, Jesus, promises us at John 6: 40; "For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who recognizes the Son and exercises faith in him should have everlasting life, and I will resurrect him on the last day".
And again at: John 5: 28; "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out..."
And also at John 11:23-25; "Jesus said to her: "I am the resurrection and the life." The one who exercises faith in me, even tho he dies, will come to life."
I pray that Jesus's promise to reunite us with our loved ones on resurrection day will carry you through the difficult days ahead and gradually replace your tears of grief with tears of joy as you reflect on your precious memories of happier times with Mr. Gordon.
Job asked at Job 14:14; "If a man dies, can he live again?" Job answers at Job 14:15; "You (Jehovah) will call and I will answer." Just like Job, we can have confidence in the resurrection hope.
For more comforting scriptures please visit: http://bit.ly/1K38EFt. It has given me hope, strengthened my faith and helped me find the answer to Why? I know it will do the same for you. John 17:3 I pray you will find comfort reading the above scriptures in your personal Bible and to please watch this beautiful video (song 144) entitled "Keep Your Eyes on the Prize" https://tv.jw.org/#en/video/VODChildren/pub-pksn_24_VIDEO or watch this short, faith strengthening video: "Can The Dead Really Live Again?" https://vimeo.com/232445509
You are in my prayers during this difficult time.

Donna -
So sorry for your loss and I'm thinking about you often. I lost Gary a little over 4 years ago - it's been a long journey but one of a lot of great memories. You'll find the strength you didn't know you had. I thought I saw that Gordie was at Wesbury when I went to visit Gary's mom there in the fall.

Thanks so much Chris for the note you sent. I, too, think of you often. I was saddened to see Gary's passing. It definitely is a difficult time adjusting back to a single life. It's so hard to believe how quickly a life can change in a matter of minutes. We should get together for lunch/dinner and talk about our "working" days. I don't live very far from you. I hope you get this. I wasn't sure if this would work or not. - Donna
