Obituary

William R. “Dick” Beatty, Greenville, Otter Creek Twp. passed away in the comfort of his home early Sunday morning, March 5, 2023, following a period of failing health.  He was 87.

He was born in Fredonia on August 30, 1935, a son of the late Rutherford and Mary Katherine (Patterson) Beatty.  On June 19, 1976, he married the former Rebecca M. Bowman who survives.  Dick had been employed by National Fuel Gas, Greenville Division retiring in 1995.  He also had been a beef farmer for many years on the family farm.  He enjoyed hunting and playing golf.

In addition to his wife Becky, he is survived by two children, Roni Shilling, Sandy Lake, and Dick Small, Hadley; a sister, Eileen Beatty, Greenville and 4 grandchildren, Julian and Sydney Shilling and Brianna and Jeremiah Small.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Larry Beatty.

Private family services were observed with cremation selected as disposition.  The Robert L.
