William Joseph “Joe” Buterbaugh, Meadville, (West Mead Twp.) died at 11:23 pm on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2020 at the UPMC - Hamot, Erie as the result of injuries sustained in a motor accident on Oct. 17, 2020. He was 56.
He was born in Erie, PA on December 8, 1963 a son of Edward and Judith (Williams) Buterbaugh. On August 16, 2003 he married Deborah A. Bontrager who survives. He was employed by Ferringer Garage, Cochranton as a mechanic. He was a motorcycle enthusiast who had a passion for motorcycle riding and was a member of the Erie ABATE and the North East VFW Post.
Joe, as he was known to his family and friends, enjoyed woodworking and grilling. He loved the outdoors where he enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping and recently he had taken up the leisurely pursuit of raising a few farm animals on his property.
In addition to his wife, Deborah, her is survived by his mother, Judith (Russell) Snyder, MS; his children, Krystal Agosto, NC, William and Joseph Buterbaugh, NC; his siblings, Margaret “Peggy” (Dave) Wroblewski, MS, Edward “ Marty” (Linda) Buterbaugh, North East, Tammy Hilyer, Marienville and Michelle Cramer, AL.; Three grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Buterbaugh; infant brother, Denver and a daughter Jessica Buterbaugh
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Injured Riders Foundation for the support and assistance that they offered to the family immediately following the accident.
Due to the current COVID 19 restrictions, the family will be Celebrating the Life of Joe at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 3223 Perry Hwy., Sheakleyville.
