William Nolan Obituary

William J. Nolan, Stoneboro, Sandy Lake Twp., passed away Wednesday morning, December 21, 2022, at the Concordia at Rebekah Residence, Allison Park, PA.  He was 80.

He was born in Pittsburgh on November 15, 1942, a son of the late John and Agnes (Boll) Nolan.  On January 19, 1963, he married the former Mildred Grace Logan who preceded him in death on February 3, 2022.  Mr. Nolan had been employed as a Buick mechanic from 1969 – 2012 and possessed a mechanic ability that he was able to fix anything.  He had a passion and zeal for restoring and collecting antique trucks and has a collection of Lionel trains.  Working alongside his wife, Mildred, he was able to hone his gardening skills and enjoyed tending to the roses and assisting with the annual canning.  With his wife by his side, he would often take on major home remodeling projects for the family. He attended the Polk Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his children, William Nolan, Jr., Curtisville, David (Dori) Nolan, Spartanburg. Christine (Robert) Foust, Stoneboro, and Jennifer (JB) Harrold, Markleton; 8 grandchildren, Laura, Marie, Adam, Hunter, Dan, Tyler, Jon, Ally, and three great-grandchildren, Ryan, Rylinn, and Laurel. and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 59 years, Mildred, and a sister Audrey Flaherty.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2023, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 3223 Perry Hwy., Sheakleyville.  A Memorial Service celebrating the life of William will follow at 7:00 pm with Rev. Larry Myers, pastor of the Polk Presbyterian Church officiating.

The family has suggested that memorial tributes in Bill’s memory may be made to the Polk Presbyterian Church, 729 Main Street, Polk, Pa 16342
