Wilberta I. Glancy, Meadville (Vernon Twp.) formerly of Adamsville passed away Tuesday evening, August 1, 2023, at the Meadville Medical Center, Liberty Street. She was 92.
She was born in Greenville on December 8, 1930, a daughter of the late William and Mabel (Stevenson) Porterfield. On June 2, 1948, she married William Glancy who preceded her in death on August 2, 2007. Throughout the years, Wilberta had worked a variety of jobs and then was certified as a Notary Public and operated her office out of her home in Adamsville. She was of the Presbyterian faith and was a life member of the Greenville Eagles Club where she enjoyed helping with the various social functions and playing bingo.
She is survived by her children, Mildred Dillaman, Meadville, Dorcey Glancy, and his companion Betty, Mercer, and Karen (Dave) Humprey, Hartstown. 10 grandchildre, 14 great-grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, a daughter, Sue Ann Glancy, an infant daughter, Reba Glancy; a brother, Charles Porterfield, a sister, Nina Mae Rushmore and a son-in-law, Philip Dillaman.
The family will be honoring Wilberta’s life at a later date, she will be laid to rest next to her husband at the Rocky Glen, Cemetery, Adamsville. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family online at www.snyderfh.com
