Virginia L. Diefenderfer, Transfer, Delaware Twp. passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home on Monday evening, December 2, 2024. She was 87.
She was born in New Vernon Twp. on November 16, 1937, a daughter of the late George L. and Ester Rebeca (Anderson) Weaver, Sr. On July 26, 1985, she married James M. Diefenderfer, who surives. Mrs. Diefenderfer was foremost a homemaker and mother raising her family. She had been employed by the former Mercer Greenhouse and had done home health care. She attended the Big Bend United Methodist Church.
In addition to her husband, James, she is survived by her children, John (Patricia) Aley, Mercer, George Kiser Aley, Jamestown, Kenneth Aley, Texas, Rickie Aley, Greenville, and Robin Sue Riley, Greenville. Three sisters, Evalena Nay, Fredonia, and Francis Nay. Greenville and Patty Gregory, Greenville; Three brothers, Charles (Karen) Weaver, Greenville, Ronald (Debbie) Weaver, Greenville, and David Weaver, Fredonia; 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Rod Aley, and a brother, George L. Weaver, Jr.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, December 6, 2024, at 10:00 AM at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 169 Second Street, Fredonia, with Rev. Tina Keller, pastor of the Big Bend United Methodist Church, officiating. She will be laid to rest at the Millbank Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Thursday at the funeral home from 2:00 – 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family online at www.snyderfh.com
