Treva R. (Roberts) Bratek

Treva R. Bratek, Hadley, Salem Twp. passed away early Sunday morning, July 6, 2025, at the UPMC Jameson, New Castle.  She was 95.

She was born in Salem Twp. on August 25, 1929, a daughter to the late Frank and Ethel (Palm) Roberts.  On December 19, 1947, she married William F. Bratek, and they shared over 75 years of marriage. He preceded her in death on April 18, 2023.   In her younger years, Treva was employed by the First National Bank in Greenville, as her husband's career led them to new opportunities, she transitioned into the role of a homemaker.  She was a member of the Sheakleyville United Methodist Church.

 She is remembered by her family for her exceptional cooking skills, and her passion for baking   She enjoyed gardening, reading, and playing card games, but above all, she cherished the moments she could share with her family.

She is survived by two grandchildren, Jaime (William) Kidd, Clarks Mills, and William Joseph (Traci) Bratek, Greenville; two very special great-grandchildren, Camille Engstrom, Hadley, and Wyatt Engstrom, Youngstown, Ohio; one brother, Donald Roberts, Saegertown and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons, David W. Bratek, and Dennis W. Bratek; five sisters, Dorothy Gravatt, Pearl Smith, Ruby Clark, Lois Rhea, Ivarea Campbell and nine brothers, Floyd Roberts, LeRoy Roberts, Cecil Roberts, Malcolm Roberts, Clifford Roberts, John Roberts, Raymond Roberts, Kenneth Roberts and Robert “Alf” Roberts.

The funeral and committal service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 3223 Perry Hwy., Sheakleyville, with Rev. Sally Bell, pastor of the Sheakleyville United Methodist Church, officiating.  Treva will be laid to rest next to her husband at the Stevenson Cemetery.  A visitation will be held on Saturday at the funeral home from 1:00 to 3:00 PM.
