Thomas Peters Obituary

Thomas J. Peters, Cochranton (Deer Creek Twp.) passed away at 1:51 am on Friday, February 7, 2020 at the UPMC Hamot, Erie.  He was 79.

He was born in Pittsburgh, Pa. on June 4, 1940 a son of the late Walter and Mary (Yonick) Peters.  On July 17, 1959 he married Geraldine C. Keil who survives.  Tom had enlisted in the U.S. Navy assigned to the USS Bluebird.  He had retired from Pepsi Cola Bottling Company as a diesel mechanic.  He was a member of the Sheakleyville Community Vol. Fire Department where he actively participated in the organization and operation of the annual homecoming and the chicken pie supper fund raising events as well as other department activities.  In his later years, Tom enjoyed transporting school student for RT Bus Company, LLC, Hadley.

He is survived by his wife, Gerry; two sons, Thomas J. Peters and his wife Lisa, Florida and James M. Peters, Pittsburgh; a daughter Mary Peters, Cochranton; 2 grandchildren, Jordan Peters and Pauline Peters.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Richard Peters and two grandsons, Brian Michael and John Joseph, Jr..

The family will be celebrating Tom’s life with services at a later date.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the care and direction of the Robert L.
