Thomas Colpetzer Obituary

Thomas A. Colpetzer, Laver Road, Greenville, Perry Twp. passed away unexpectedly early Thursday morning, April 13, 2023 at his residence.  He was 72.

Thomas was born in Bellefonte, PA on December 31, 1950, a son of the late Robert Raymond and Fannie Matilda (Woomer) Colpetzer.  He was a 1968 graduate of Juniata Valley High School.  On May 15, 1993, he married the former Amy L. McDowell who survives.  Tom was a lifelong dairy farmer, having begun his career working for Rupert Jersey, New Waterford, OH for 5 years, he then went on to be self-employed in the operation of his own dairy farm from which he had retired.  In his younger years, he was a member of the Future Farmers of America (FFA), he had a passion for jersey cows and the proudest moment of his career was in 2007 when he received recognition for his Grand Champion Jersey at the All-American Dairy Show.  Tom is remembered for his love of Jersey cows and for sharing his sense of humor on Facebook.  He appreciated and enjoyed the companionship of his dog, Lindsey.

He is survived by his wife Amy; his children, Wendy (Jason) McCullough, Bicknell, IN, Angie (Caleb) Cooper, Slippery Rock, Sally Oakes, Jackson Center and George T. Colpetzer, Greenville, his siblings, Rebecca (Dennis) Hardy, Raymond Colpetzer and George N. Colpetzer and 2 grandchildren, Alex and Matthew McCullough.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Samuel Colpetzer, and a brother Kenneth Colpetzer.

Family and friends will be received at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 3223 Perry Hwy., Sheakleyville on Saturday, April 15, 2023, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM. He will be laid to rest next to his son Samuel at the Oak Grove Cemetery, Fairview Twp.
