Sonja L. Wenzel, Greenville (Hempfield Twp.) passed away at 2:20 am on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at The Grove of Greenville. She was 79.

Sonja was born in Crawford County on June 15, 1940 a daughter of the late Robert and Elizabeth Shreffler. She had been married to Robert Wenzel who preceded her in death on July 29, 2014. Sonja had been employed by Packard Electric from which she had retired. She was a member of the Jamestown Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by two sons, Ken Anderson and his wife Cathy, Greenville and Joe Anderson and his wife Kathy, Greenville; a sister, Sandy Marini, Greenville; 4 grandchildren, Chad Anderson, Joey Anderson, Charity Shrock and Courtney Ramirez and 13 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert Wenzel; two sons, Paul Anderson and Steve Anderson and a granddaughter, Chelsea Anderson.

The family will be honoring Sonja’s life with private family services. She will be laid to rest at the Stevenson Cemetery, Salem Twp.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care and direction of the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 3223 Perry Hwy., Sheakleyville.
