Ruby L. (Shields) Hoover

Ruby L. Hoover, Greenville formerly of Delaware Twp. passed away at 8:55 pm on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at the Grove of Greenville.  She was 83.

Ruby was born in Sharon, PA. on September 12, 1937 a daughter of the late William and Ethel (Holzapfel) Shields.  On November 19, 1955 she married the Thomas D. Hoover who preceded her in death on April 18, 1999.  Ruby was a homemaker and enjoyed canning and gardening.  She loved to play bingo and appreciated the times she was able to visit with her family and friends.

She is survived by a son, Thomas E. Hoover and his wife Annette, Greenville; her grandson, Brian Hoover and his wife Amanda, Greenville; her twin great grandsons, Codi and Seth Hoover; a sister Roberta Regis and her husband Robert, Sharpsville; a sister in law, Shirley Shields, Greenville and many nieces and nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas; two brothers, William Shields and Robert Shields and two sisters, Dolores Raiti and Jean Burnette.

Due to COVID 19 restrictions, the family will be privately honoring Ruby’s life with private family services to be held at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 169 Second Street, Fredonia.  Ruby will be laid to rest next to her husband at the Millbank Cemetery, Fredonia.
