Roger Lee Hetrick

Roger Lee Hetrick of Jamestown, Greene Township, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 5, 2025 in the Emergency Department of the UPMC, Horizon, Greenville. He was 64.

He was born on September 12, 1960, in Sharon, Pennsylvania, to the late Robert and Jean (Shingledecker) Hetrick, Sr.  Following his graduation, Roger proudly and honorably  served in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Germany. He had worked and retired as a state inspection mechanic having worked through the years at several automotive garages in the area.

Roger enjoyed spending his spare time woodworking, fixing things, and fishing. His greatest joy, however, was spending time with his grandchildren.

Left to cherish his memory is his companion of 18 years, Melinda Rostron; his children, Suzanne Hetrick of Kittanning, Kathryn Griffith and husband Richard of Greenville, Tom Bottles of Jamestown and Cody (Leah)Verhagen of Greenville; sisters, Cathy Ebert and husband Fred of Richmond, VA, Tracy Petrosky of Richmond, VA, Jennifer (Doug) Roberts of OH, and Leah (George) Coccaro of Pittsburgh; a brother Robert Hetrick Jr., of Transfer and 11 grandchildren, Shelby, Emmett, Aubrey, Hayden, Violet, Zoey, Zayne, Waylon, Jameson, Eliza, and Laurel.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his step mother, Jennifer Hetrick,  his stepfather, Toby Petrosky, who raised him,a brother, Steven Hetrick and a daughter in law, Ashlea Bottles.
