Robert J. Helch, III

Robert J. Helch, III, Meadville, Vernon Twp. passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday evening, January 8, 2025, in the emergency department of Meadville Medical Center.  He was 52

He was born in Pittsburgh on January 15, 1972, a son of Robert J. and Linda S. (Bodnar) Helch, Jr. On September 25, 1999, he married the former, Tara L. White, who survives.  Robert was employed by the Carpenters Union Local 420 and recently was employed by Mortimer Excavating, Inc., West Middlesex.

He was a member of Our Lady, Queen of America’s, Conneaut Lake, The Knights of Columbus #6037; Conneaut Lake was an active member of the former Conneaut Lake Park Fire Department, Station 5.  Robert was known for raising horses and his ability to break horses. He was also active in trading and selling horses.  He was a 4H leader and truly loved and enjoyed being able to work with the kid’s teaching them about horses and how to properly ride. Through his teaching he was able to boost the children's confidence in caring for and riding their horses.

In addition to his wife Tara, he is survived by his children, Breann Helch and her fiancé, Nick Olson, Conneaut Lake, Baeli Helch and her boyfriend, Connor Perrye, Conneaut Lake and Brendon Helch, Conneaut Lake; his mother, Linda Helch, Conneaut Lake; a sister, Susan L. Stright, Conneaut Lake; two brother in laws, Wade White Cochranton and Kip (Glamaria) White, Charlotte, NC, 6 nieces and nephews, Wade White, Blake Stright, Isaac White, Kason White, Luke Stright and Kaya White. Many aunts and uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Helch, Jr.

A Mass of Resurrection will be held on Monday, January 13, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Our Lady, Queen of America’s, 155 S. 9th Street, Conneaut Lake, with Rev. David Carter officiating.  He will be laid to rest at the Williams Cemetery.  The visitation will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2025, from 1:00 -4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 3223 Perry Hwy., Sheakleyille.
