Robert E. Ansell, Sr.

Robert E. Ansell, Sr. Hadley (Sandy Creek Twp.) passed away early Sunday morning, August 29, 2021, at his residence surrounded by his family.  He was 67.

He was born in Grove City on November 13, 1953, a son of the late Clarence and Ruth (Hannegan) Ansell.  On June 16, 1973, he married the former Ada F. Thompson who survives. Robert was a self-employed farmer and was known for his custom hay work in the area.  He had been employed by R.D. Werner Company until its closing.  He also owned and operated a farm machinery business, buying and repairing farm implements for resale.

He is survived by his wife, Ada; two sons, Robert E. Ansell Jr. and his wife Kelly, Hadley and David M. Ansell, Hadley; a sister, Patricia Pressler, Greenville and 5 grandchildren, Aidan Jones, Kaitlyn Ansell, Joseph Ansell, Gunner Ansell, and Eva Ansell.

Robert was extremely proud of his sons and his grandchildren and loved his family dearly, he was very proud of their many accomplishments over the years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, James R. Ansell and Raymond J. Ansell.

Family and friends may call on Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2021 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm and on Thursday from 10:00 – 11:00 am at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 3223 Perry Hwy., Sheakleyville.  The funeral service will follow at the funeral home on Thursday, Sept. 2, 2021, at 11:00 am with Rev. Adam Stump, pastor of the Clarks Mills United Methodist Church officiating.  Robert will be laid to rest at the Hadley Cemetery.  Memories and condolences may be shared with the family online at www.snyderfh.com

The family has suggested that memorial tributes may be made to the National Parkinson’s Foundation  or to the American Cancer Society.
