Patricia L. Smock, Stoneboro (New Vernon Twp.), passed away Sunday morning, November 16, 2025, at UPMC Mercy, Pittsburgh, following a brief illness. She was 90.
She was born in Deer Creek Twp. on June 11, 1935, a daughter of the late Ernest LeRoy and Martha Louise (Neyman) Forney. She was a graduate of Cochranton High School, and on November 18, 1955, she married Robert L. Smock, who preceded her in death on March 30, 2009. Pat began her working career as a secretary for the former Stegkamper Ford–Mercury, Greenville, and then went on to be employed in the cafeteria department of the Commodore Perry School District. She was a member of Hadley Presbyterian Church, where she had served as a Sunday School teacher for many years. She also served as a Cub Scout den mother, had enjoyed snowmobiling in her younger years, and was a member of the Kiski Valley CB Club. She and her husband enjoyed travelling and camping, with many fond memories made at the Hearts Content Campground in Tidioute. She was an avid gardener, growing vegetables to feed the family through the winter months. Above all, her family was her world; she always welcomed the many visits from her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and, recently, a great-great-grandson. She enjoyed participating in and supporting their academic and sports activities. Pat is remembered as a caring person whose compassion was shown by welcoming those in their final days into her home and providing comfort and care. Following her husband's passing, she would volunteer at St. Paul’s Home.
Left to cherish her memories are her two daughters, Denise L. Cochran (Alan), Stoneboro, and DeAnna “Dee” Heckman (Mark), Clarks Mills; 5 grandchildren, Brian K. Myers, April Frey and her partner, Shelby Dosch, Adam Cochran, Ashley Connelly (Brendan), Kristen Wimer, and her fiancée, Mike Collar, a grand son in law, Allin Regis; 12 great grandchildren, Sahvanna Myers, Jade Frey, Jacob Frey and his partner, Nevaeh Stevens, Brienne Connelly, Liam Connelly, Robert and Michael Amon, Bailynn Breese, Logan and Anna Collar, Mikayla Reges and Oliver Watson and a great great grandson, Theodore Frey.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert, a son, Daryl Robert Smock, a daughter, Debra L. Cigis, her sister, Janet Reinhart, and granddaughter, Amber Lynn Reges.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 3223 Perry Hwy., Sheakleyville. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at the Sheakleyville Cemetery. The visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, (11/21/2025) from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
