Nancy Redfoot Obituary

Nancy J. Redfoot, 89, of 1122 Memorial Blvd., Sharon, passed away Friday, Sept. 12, 2025, after a brief illness. She was born June 13, 1936, the daughter of Fred and Dorothy Hayden Thomas. She cherished memories of both her early childhood in Pittsburgh and her days on a farm in Delaware Township, where her family moved after World War II. She graduated from Fredonia-Delaware High School in 1954. On June 16, 1956, she married her high school sweetheart, Warren L. Redfoot. They moved to Fairbanks, Alaska, where Warren served in the U.S. Army for two years.

Nancy and Warren enjoyed square dancing and were part of a championship square dance team at Stony Point Grange. She was a long-time member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Greenville, and served for many years on the worship and music committee.

Nancy was a caring, creative and devoted wife and mother, known for her exceptional sewing skills and the amazing array of baked goods and handmade decorations and gifts she produced each Christmas. A skilled bookkeeper, she worked for many years with Warren, who was the Delaware Township tax collector. She later worked at Gosser Gift and Office Supply and Hurlbert’s Hardware.

Nancy adored her four grandchildren and was thrilled with the addition of two great-granddaughters in the past year. She is survived by her two children, Barbara (John) Stith of Skaneateles, NY, and Tom (Pam) Redfoot of Hermitage; four grandchildren and their spouses, Andrew (Shannon) Redfoot, Emily (Patrick) Layshock, Jay (Hilary Fenner) Stith and Carrie (Ryan Walczak) Stith; and two great-granddaughters, Olivia Layshock and Calliope Walczak. She was predeceased by her husband, her parents and her two siblings, Dale Thomas and Judy Thomas Lowery.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2025, at 11 am at St. John’s  Lutheran Church, 10 Beil Hill Road, Greenville. The interment will follow at the Delaware Cemetery. Calling hours will be immediately before the service, beginning at 10 am. Arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 169 Second St., Fredonia.

The family has suggested that memorial tributes may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church memorial fund, 10 Beil Hill Road, Greenville, PA 16125.
