Michael J. Wilcox

Michael J Wilcox, 79, of Skiatook, OK, quietly passed away at Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa, OK, on May 10, 2023.
Mike was born in Crawford County, PA, to Cliff M. Wilcox and Doris I. (Wescott) Wilcox on December 7, 1943. He attended grade school and high school in Cochranton, PA. He joined the U S Army in March 1960 and served until March 1965. He trained and worked as a Rotor Helicopter Mechanic and was discharged with the rank of PFC E3.

He attended Iowa Western Community College in 1984-85 in Council Bluffs, IA, and received his Certification in Diesel Mechanics. He worked for Union Pacific Railroad as a locomotive diesel mechanic for 20 yrs. and American Airlines as a Sub Support Mechanic for 11 yrs., Tulsa, OK. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading westerns, NASCAR races, traveling, and rebuilding old cars.

He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Patrick, and James. He is survived by Nancy, his wife of 46 yrs.; a daughter, Michelle Beckes, of Skiatook; a stepdaughter, Diana Gandy of Waynesboro, MS; three step-granddaughters, Cortney Carrington, Parker, CO; Marissa Bowker, Lakewood, CO; and Madison Ainsworth (Austin), Waynesboro, MS. He has one step great-grandson, Denver, CO. He also has many cousins, nieces, and nephews in PA, FL, and TN.

A Celebration of the life of Michael will be held at 1:30 PM on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 3223 Perry Hwy., Sheakleyville.
