Michael Hughes

Michael Hughes, of Pymatuning Twp., Greenville, passed away at his home on Tuesday, May 6, 2025. He was 71.

Michael was born in Sharon on March 8, 1954, a son of the late Arthur and Shirley (Sphon) Hughes. He was one of seven children. He married the former Diana Christy on August 11, 1975, and she preceded him in death on June 16, 2022.

Michael started his honorable military career in the United State Marine Corp and retired from the Army as a staff sergeant, after his retirement he spent 10 years in the Army National Guard at the New Castle Armory, Michael also worked at Sawhill before working at Wheatland Tube.

He enjoyed attending his granddaughter’s sporting events and spending time with her camping. No matter what he was doing, he was always there to help when someone needed him.

Left to cherish his memory is his son, Michael Hughes II of Clark, and his granddaughter Kyleigh Hughes of Transfer.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Diana and his parents.

A graveside service will take place at Mt. Washington Cemetery, Mercer, PA with military honors rendered by Reynolds VFW, at 10:00 am Monday, May 12, 2025.
