Michael A. Foley, Greenville (East Fallowfield Twp.) passed away Wednesday evening, October 25, 2023, at the St. Elizabeth Health Center, Youngtown following a period of declining health. He was 62.
Michael was born in Pittsburgh, on March 29, 1961, a son of John O and Bonnie (Williams) Foley. He was raised by his mother and stepfather, James “Fuzzy” Carothers. He was a carpenter by trade and enjoyed working with the local Amish, who quickly became his friend. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, a member of the Sinnemahoning Sportsman Club, Cameron County, and always enjoyed escaping to his camp in Clearfield County. He was an excellent cook and is remembered for his great sense of humor and his ability to always make others laugh. He was an avid follower of the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the family encourages those attending the visitation to wear their Pittsburgh Steeler Spirit wear in Michael’s honor.
In addition to his mother, Bonnie, Greenville, he is survived by his children, Ashley Foley, Greenville, and David (Jessica) Foley, Cochranton, many cousins and aunts and uncles and Amish friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, his stepfather, and a sister, Debra Foley.
A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023, from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 3223 Perry Hwy., Sheakleyville. A celebration of life service will follow at 6:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial tributes be made to the funeral home to assist with the expenses incurred, which can be done by clicking on the donation tab above.
