Marvin H. Kleinhans

Marvin H. Kleinhans, of Hadley, Sandy Creek Township, passed away Sunday afternoon, February 8, 2026, at UPMC–Jameson. He was 82.

He was born April 28, 1943, in Port Clinton, Ohio, a son of the late Harold and Evelyn W. (Everett) Kleinhans. On January 8, 1966, he married the former Janet Lynn Nehls, who preceded him in death on February 24, 2021.

Marvin was a self-employed farmer and owned and operated Kleinhans Farm in Sandy Creek Twp.  He was also employed at the Mercer Livestock Auction for many years. He greatly appreciated the companionship of his dogs and cats. He served honorably with the National Guard and was of the Lutheran faith.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Nellie Jane (James) Sauer of Sandy Lake, Jeremy Kleinhans and his companion, Debbie Schweitzer, of Hadley, and David Kleinhans of Jefferson, Ohio; one brother, Larry (Sara Ann) Kleinhans of Sidney, Ohio; two sisters, Glenna L. Hetrick of Oak Harbor, Ohio, and Beverly Lang of Toledo, Ohio; and two grandchildren, Allie (Greg) Kula and Michael McGraw.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Janet, Marvin was preceded in death by his mother- and father-in-law, Alvin and Nellie Nehls.

Private graveside services will be held at Hadley Cemetery, with Rev. Kent Bell, pastor of Bethel Life Worship Center, officiating. Marvin will be laid to rest beside his wife at Hadley Cemetery.
