Marilynn R. Dull, of Fredonia (Delaware Twp.), passed away at UPMC – Hamot, Erie on Tuesday, September 16, 2025. She was 88.
Marilynn was born in West Middlesex on November 12, 1936, a daughter of the late Duane and Arlene (Boyles) Riggs. After high school, she attended Grove City College, studying sociology, and graduated in 1955 with her bachelor's degree. She went on to marry Gerald "Jerry" R. Dull, on July 11, 1959. They shared 64 years of marriage before his passing in 2024.
After completing her education, Marilynn started her distinguished career with the U.S. Postal Service in Greenville. Her dedication to her work was evident to all who knew her, and she remained a steadfast presence at the Postal Service until her retirement in 1997.
Beyond her professional life, Marilynn was deeply involved with the White Shrine, an organization where she made significant contributions. She served as Supreme Worthy High Priestess and her peers honored her with a lifetime achievement award. She was a member of the Fredonia United Methodist Church. She was proud to have been given the honor of being the first to turn on the lights at Reynold's football field.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, LuAnn Ringer of Greenville and Barry (Laurie) Dull of Mentor, OH; a brother, Donald Riggs of Florida; two grandchildren, Salena (Greg) Hann of North Versailles and Shawna (Coy) Abercrombie of Christiana, Tennessee; and four great grandchildren, Cole Hann and Parker, Charlotte and Cyrus Abercrombie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister Ruth Moore and a brother, Duane Riggs.
The funeral and committal service will be held Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 3:00 pm at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 169 Second St. Fredonia, with Rev. Tina Keller, pastor of the Fredonia United Methodist Church officiating. Marilynn will be laid to rest next to her husband at Millbank Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00-3:00 time of service.
The family suggests that memorial tributes may be made to the Fallowfield Fire and Rescue, 6759 Center St. P.O. Box 36, Hartstown, PA 16131.
