Margaret E. Long, Fredonia, Fairview Twp. passed away Tuesday morning, June 25, 2024, at her residence with her family by her side. She was 75.
She was born in Stoneboro, on December 19, 1948, a daughter of the late Robert and Ann (Finney) White. She married Fred A. Long on December 3, 1983, who survives. Margaret graduated from Lakeview High School in 1966, attended Thiel College, and received her Bachelor of Nursing degree from Penn State. She had previously been employed by the Franklin Hospital and then went on to be a registered nurse at the State Regional Correctional Facility, Mercer, from where she had retired.
She is survived by her husband, Fred; three sons, Ron (Patty) McMullen, Jr., Meadville, Kevin (Stacey) McMullen, Fredonia and Michael (Tammie) McMullen, Sr., Fredonia; a sister, Beth White, N.C.; a brother, Robert (Cheri) White, ID; 6 grandchildren, Crystal McMullen, Jacob (Tess) McMullen, Jared Johns, Shawness (Eric) Shaver, Michael (Chelsea) McMullen, Jr., and Alex (Alex) Zappia; 5 great-grandchildren, Kenslee and Madison McMullen and Lydia, Ronan and Callum McMullen.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Suzanne Metro and Mary Jane Czerniawski.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, June 28, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 3223 Perry Hwy., Sheakleyville with Pastor Michael Holley of the Clarks Mills Community Church officiating. Margaret will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery, Sandy Lake. A visitation will be held on Friday at the funeral home from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
