Lonnie Lee Buchanan

Lonnie L. Buchanan, Cochranton, Deer Creek Twp. passed away in the comfort of his home on Wednesday morning, April 5, 2023.  He was 77.

He was born in Meadville on June 8, 1945, and had been raised by his grandparents, Lee and Eunice Buchanan. On May 22, 1995, he married the former Rita L. Willman who survives. Lonnie went on to serve honorably with the US Army during the Vietnam War as a combat engineer.  In his younger years, he had worked in a sawmill and later went onto work at the former Visco, Meadville, Walmart and had also been a self-employed contractor.

In addition to his wife, Rita he is survived by a son, Kevin Buchanan, FL; three stepchildren, James Robinson, Cochranton, Kim Williams, Sandy Lake, and Kathy Robinson, Greenville.; a sister, Carol Bouchi, AZ; 9 grandchildren, Brittany (Craig) Gaverou, TX, Kayci Williams, HI, Logan (Brittany) Williams, WA, Kaitlyn (Aiden) Williams, Cochranton, Alex Williams, TX, Nick Wells, Sandy Lake, Krista (Tony) Edwards, LA, Aaron (Tiffany) Erickson, Cochranton and Kirsten Robinson, Cochranton; 8 great-grandchildren, Abigail, Alana, Mason, Jaxson, Lucas, Devohn, Tony, Jr., and Cashius.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lee and Eunice Buchanan.

The family will be honoring Lonnie’s life with a Celebration of Life to be held at a later date.
