Lois E. Peters, Meadville, passed away early Tuesday morning, August 19, 2025, at the Crawford Care Center, Saegertown. She was 88.
Lois was born in Meadville on February 4, 1937, a daughter of the late Clarence and Winifred (Loper) Dewoody. She was married to Ronald Smock and subsequently to Walter Peters, who predeceased her in death. Lois was employed as a secretary in purchasing at the former ABEX Corp in Meadville and then went on to work at National Teletronic, from which she retired after 16 years of service. Following her retirement, Lois was involved in home health care for many in the Meadville area. She was of the Methodist faith and a long-time member of the Meadville VFW Post #2006.
Left to cherish her memory are three children, Linda (Michael) Walker, Ocala, FL, Cindy (John) Jacobs, Conneaut Lake, and Thomas (Andi) Smock, New Kensington; four grandchildren, Jody Burbach, Ryan Brown, Erin Milem, and Molly Smock, ten great-grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, a son, Randall Smock, one brother, Ronald Dewoody, two sisters, Sandra Rose and Judy Burkholder, and two grandsons, Justin McClearn and Noah Simonette.
Respecting Lois's wishes, the family will privately honor her life. No services are being held, and she will be laid to rest at the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Meadville.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 3223 Perry Hwy., Sheakleyville, Pennsylvania.
