Lloyd J. Kaltenbaugh, Clarks Mills, Perry Twp. passed away early Monday morning March 6, 2023, at the Grove at New Wilmington following a period of declining health. He was 84.
He was born in Clarks Mills on August 6, 1938, a son of the late James Harold and Alleyne Elizabeth (Gordon) Kaltenbaugh. On May 25, 1956, he married his wife, of 66 years, the former Gladys Vasbinder who survives. Mr. Kaltenbaugh was a lifelong sawyer, having worked in many local sawmills, he also was employed by Universal Refractories, Greenville for 25 years and later at Andover Industries. He was a member of the Mt Hope United Methodist Church. Lloyd always enjoyed cutting wood and fishing was a favorite pastime.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys, a son, Lloyd J. Kaltenbaugh, Jr., Clarks Mills; two daughters, Kathy (Robert) Gill, Cochranton, and Betty J. Kaltenbaugh, Clarks Mills; a sister, Mary (Samuel) Chisholm, Cochranton. 5 grandchildren, Robert Gill, Jr., Kelly (Ryan) Harper, Mindi Jo (Carl) Barnes, Christopher Fink, Daniel (Kassie) Kaltenbaugh; 7 great-grandchildren, Jordan Gill, Kelsey (David) Hinshaw, Kayla Gill, Kendra Harper, Mattison Arnett, Jamison Barnes, and Brinnley White; 9 great-great-grandchildren, Greyson Stover, Brantley Armagost, Braxton White, Daxen White, Koehn Rowell, River Rowell, Harrison Hinshaw, Preston Hinshaw, and Hudson Gill. and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Janet Darlene Arnett; three brothers, Ivan Kaltenbaugh, Glenn Kaltenbaugh, and his twin, Floyd Kaltenbaugh, a grandson, Michael James Gill, a great-granddaughter, Jayla Elaine Gill and a great-grandson, Hayden Gill.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, March 10, 2023, at 11:00 am at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 3223 Perry Hwy., Sheakleyville with Pastor Dennis Milford officiating. Lloyd will be laid to rest at the Sheakleyville Cemetery.
