Linwood E. Thorne, Jr.

Linwood. E. Thorne, Jr., Hadley (Salem Twp.) passed away at the UPMC, Hamot - Erie on Thursday evening, July 16, 2020.  He was 56.

Linwood was born in Cumberland, MD. on March 24, 1964 a son of Linwood E. “Itchy” and Betty "Pooch" (Mankins) Thorne.  He was a 1983 graduate of the Greenville High School and throughout his working career had been involved in auto body repair and truck driving.  He was an avid pool player having participated in many local leagues.  In 2018 he participated in the National Pool Competition; he had also been awarded second place in the VENA State Competition.  He was a dirt racetrack buff, growing up watching Lou Blaney advance his career at the local Mercer Racetrack and Sharon Speedway.   His dog, “Mouse” was his constant companion and loyal friend.

He is survived by his three children, Linwood E. Thorne, III and his wife Heather, Grove City, Dillon D. Thorne, Hadley and Paige Marie E. Polkabla and her husband Ryan, Greenville; his parents, Linwood E. “Itchy” Thorne and his wife Joy, Keyser, WV; his mother, Betty ‘Pooch” Molinatto,. Champion, OH; a sister, Rhonda Thorne, Moncks, SC; his former wife, Daveena Thorne, Hermitage and three grandchildren, Bentley Thorne, Aleiha Polkabla and Paislee Polkabla.
