Linda Temple Obituary

Linda A. Temple, Hadley (Sandy Creek Twp.) passed away Wednesday evening, December 27, 2023, at the UPMC-Magee, Pittsburgh.  She was 72.

She was born in Steubenville, WV on September 17, 1951, a daughter of the late James and Imogene E. (Faulk) Dixon.  On June 6, 1969, she married Larry G. Temple who survives.  Through the years, Linda had been employed by the former Laubscher Restaurant, Mercer Greenhouse, and the Mercer County Home, and also had driven school buses for Commodore Perry School District.  She owned and operated, along with her husband, Temple Portable Crushing., where she would often be found working in the field during the day and doing the bookkeeping in the evening.  She enjoyed working on the family farm.  She and her husband enjoyed spending the winter months in Williston, FL.   An avid crafter, Linda enjoyed sewing and is known for the many bears she would make and sell at local craft shows.  Linda cherished the time she was able to share with her family and grandchildren and appreciated the companionship of her dogs, Rambo and Kaylee.  Mrs. Temple was a member of the Reash Community Church, Cochranton where she had served on the building committee, sang in the choir, and decorated the church through the various seasons.  She was a former EMT for the Sheakleyville Community Volunteer Fire Department.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Larry; two sons, Brian (Mary) Temple, Meadville and Jason (Karen) Temple, Sandy Lake; a brother, James Dixon, Transfer; 4 grandchildren. Michael, Nicole, Jordan and Noah, and 4 great-grandchildren, Brycen, Easton, Joshua and Ben.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Dixon and Imogene E. Dixon Moore, and a brother, Larry Dixon.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2023, at 11:00 AM at the Reash Community Church, 4931 US Hwy. 19, Cochranton with Pastor Nathan Bailey officiating.  She will be laid to rest at the Hadley Cemetery.  Family and friends may call at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 3223 Perry Hwy., Sheakleyville on Tuesday, from 4:00 TO 7:00 PM and at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 – 11:00 AM.  Memories and condolences may be shared with the family online at www.
