Linda J. Schehl, Fredonia passed away Saturday afternoon in the comfort of her home following a period of failing health. She was 76.
Linda was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama on June 12, 1947, a daughter of the late Herb and Edythe (Teague) Schehl. Following her high school graduation, Linda enlisted in the US Army and served stateside as a nurse during the Vietnam War at Fort McClellan, Alabama. She later went on to work as a registered nurse at the Children’s Hospital, Atlanta, GA. Linda also had been a dog groomer and had done security work. She was a member of the Jamestown VFW Post 5424 where she proudly served with the honor guard.
She is survived by her daughter, Edythe Nagel, and her fiancé, Frank Surano, Fredonia; two brothers, Roger (Anne) Lawrence and Frank (Debbie) Lawrence and three grandchildren, Jessica Brooks, Madison Purgason, and Autumn Nagel.
She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant daughter.
The family will be privately honoring Linda’s life.
