Leonard G. Austin, 79, of Conneaut Lake, East Fallowfield Township, passed away at his residence early Thursday morning, March 12, 2026.
He was born in Kittanning on October 11, 1946, a son of the late Leonard and Sarah (Anthony) Austin.
Leonard served honorably in the United States Air Force as a communications specialist. He was employed by PPG at the Meadville Plant 8 facility, where he dedicated more than 40 years of service before retiring.
Leonard was an avid trap shooter and proudly competed on the PPG Trap Shooting Team, where he was often recognized as a top scorer. Alongside his wife of 43 years, the former Stella M. Shevitz, he shared a passion for raising horses. Together they bred and showed horses at many events over the years.
In addition to his wife, Stella, he is survived by his stepson, Brian Springer of Conneaut Lake; a sister, Janet (Fred) Snyder of Washington, Pennsylvania; a brother, Charles (Helen) Austin of Stoneboro; and a grandson, Alex Howick.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his parents.
Respecting Leonard’s wishes, cremation has been chosen and no services will be held.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 3223 Perry Highway, Sheakleyville.
