Kenneth W. Turner, Cochranton (Deer Creek Twp.) Passed away Friday evening, February 4, 2022, at the Wesbury United Methodist Community. He was 89.
He was born on March 16, 1932, a son of the late Wilbert S. and Ellen I. (Caldwell) Turner. He was a 1951 graduate of the Cochranton High School. On April 7, 1956, he married the former Charlene I. Herman who survives. Ken had been a lifetime farmer and had been employed by PPG, Plant 8, Meadville from where he retired after 28 years of service. Mr. Turner was an avid race car fan and for 15 years enjoyed being able to work at the Mercer Raceway. He attended the Mumford Chapel, Cochranton.
In addition to his wife of 65 years, Charlene; he is survived by his sons, Kenneth A. Turner, Cochranton, Garry L. Turner, Slippery Rock and Larry A. (April)Turner, Sandy Lake; Two brothers, James A. (Elizabeth) Turner, Meadville and Roland W. Turner, Cochranton; a sister, Nancy (Robert) Birtciel, Hadley and a sister-in-law, Marilyn Clark, Greenville. Six grandchildren, Cody and Kyle Turner, Bradley and Brenton Turner and Austin and Lauren Turner and two great granddaughters, Charlee and Brynley.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Melvin J. Turner.
The funeral service will be held at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 3223 Perry Hwy., Sheakleyville. He will be laid to rest at the Cochranton Cemetery.
