Katharyne E. "Kats" (Smith) Mostoller

Katharyne E “Kats” Mostoller, Fredonia, PA passed away March 31, 2022, at the age of 95 in Greystone Country Estates.

Born March 16, 1927, to the late John Smith and Hazel (Dively) Smith-Heinle. She was a graduate of Jenner-Boswell High School. She married the late Kenneth Mostoller June 13, 1946. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. Kats worked at Anderson's Store, and she was also a waitress at the Fredonia Diner for many years. She loved teasing her customers by wearing an apron that said, “Don’t make me poison your food!” Jokingly she would ask her customers “how would you like your eggs?….that is if you are lucky.” Kats was active at Old Home Week, selling raffle tickets for the firemen and helping in the food tent. Baking pies was her passion. She instilled her love of baking and cooking in her grandchildren. Kats also enjoyed playing bingo with her friends. Mostly she enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children. Ken Mostoller and his wife Paige, Cave Creek, AZ. Kris Long and her finance’ Tim Stone, Mercer and Keith Mostoller and his wife Cheryl, Fredonia.; Grandchildren, Kenny Long, David Long, Kara (Kyle) Rhoads, Justin Mostoller, Nicole Mostoller, Rachel (Josh) Wilson, Jason (Kim) Mostoller and four great grandchildren; Niece and nephews, Garnet, Jill and Jonathon Hillegas, Jennifer Paulin and many more.

Kats was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Kenneth Mostoller, her longtime companion Dwight ‘Bunny’ Neri and a sister Ann Graytok.

Family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the service at 12PM on April 9, 2022, at Fredonia Presbyterian Church 24 Water Street Fredonia, PA with the Reverend Eric Peters officiating.

She will be laid to rest next to her husband at the Somerset Memorial park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Greystone Country Estates 424 Delaware Road, Fredonia, PA 16124.
