Julie A. Straub, Greenville, (Otter Creek Twp.) passed away unexpectedly early Monday morning, December 18, 2023, of natural causes at her residence. She was 55.
Julie was born on July 20, 1968, the daughter of the late William R. and Helen E. (Shilling) Straub. She was a 1986 graduate of Commodore Perry High School. Julie had been employed by Veado Mini Mart, Greenville since 1987. Through her employment at Veado’s she became a familiar face and friend to many customers over the years. Julie is remembered for her sense of humor, her smile, and that unforgettable unique grin. Julie possessed a love of the outdoors and was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing.
She is survived by her brother James (Emily) Straub, Stoneboro; her sister, Jean Cullen, Greenville; a very special friend, Joanne Polkabla, Greenville; 6 nieces and nephews, Jenny (Kyle) Patterson, Clarks Mills, Joe (Jackie) Straub, NY, Michelle (Scott) Maust, Salisbury, Matthew (Sara) Cullen, US Army, Germany, Isacc Straub, Stoneboro and Aaron Straub, Stoneboro, 8 great nieces and nephews, Jasmine, Ella, Levi, Aleah, Trevor, Derek, Kolton and Konner.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother John M. Straub.
A visitation will be held on Friday, December 22, 2023, from 3:00 – 5:00 PM at the Fredonia Presbyterian Church, 24 Water Street, Fredonia. The memorial service will follow at 5:30 PM at the church, with Rev. Eric M. Peters, pastor of the church officiating.
