Jon C. Santner, Meadville, passed away early Thursday Morning, 7/18/2024, at Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community. He was 84.
He was born in Harrison City, PA, on April 11, 1940, a son of the late Edward and Lois (Whiteman) Santner. On May 10, 1963, he married the former Ann Shannon, who preceded him in death on January 4, 2013. Mr. Santer had been an elementary school teacher for Crawford Central School District, retiring in 1996. He then became employed by Greenleaf Corporation, where he retired in 2010. He was a member of Pine Lodge # 498 Free and Accepted Masons, Linesville, BPOE # 219, Meadville Elk Lodge, Vernon Central Hose Company, and Cochranton Station 4.
He is survived by two sisters-in-law, Arlene Santner, Meadville, and Marcia Santner, N.H. and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Ann, two brothers, Dale Santner and Lynn Santner, and a sister-in-law, Joan Donley.
The family would like to express their deep appreciation for the kind and compassionate care provided to Jon by the Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community and Gentiva Hospice staff.
Jon will be laid to rest next to his wife, Ann, at the Lakeview Cemetery, Conneaut Lake.
Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 3223 Perry Hwy., Sheakleyville.
