Jon R. Jones, Hadley (Perry Twp.) passed away Tuesday morning, January 30, 2024 at his residence of natural causes. He was 56.
Jon was born in Youngstown, Ohio on July 11, 1967, a son of William and Doris (Chanek) Jones. On August 30, he married the former Tammy S. Jones, who survives. Jon had been employed by the former Greenville Steel Car and later Trinity Industries until it had closed. He was later employed by Auto Zone in Hermitage and Sharon and was currently a district manager for Monroe Muffler Brake Company. He was a former member of the Mercer County ABATE Chapter. An avid outdoorsman, Jon loved to go camping and ride his motorcycle and always looked forward to his yearly trips to Tennessee and the Smokie Mountains.
His family was his greatest pride and joy, he stepped up to the Dad that he didn't have to be. He was a loving husband and Papa. He is remembered by his family for his ability to always be right.
He is survived by his wife Tammy; his children, Billy (Alexa) Doerr, SC., Rebecca Homer, Franklin, Shelby Ann Homer and her fiancée, Aaron Millero, Greenville, Jazmin Axtell, Greenville and Melissa Jones, Hadley; his mother, Doris Jones, Hubbard, OH; a brother, David (Mary) Jones, Hubbard, OH and 8 grandchildren, Mackenzie, Liam, Arya, Codie, Carter, Lincoln, Raelynn and Nova.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Jones.
At this time the family will be privately honoring the life of Jon, with no services scheduled.
