John E. Dick, Sr., of Hermitage, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was 84.
John was born on April 3, 1941, in Wilkinsburg, PA, a son of the late Paul and Margaret (Hudak) Dick. He married the former Helen V. Hysong, who survives at home. He served honorably in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Forrestal as a Mid-shipman and went on to retire from Westinghouse in Fox Chapel. John was also a member of the Outer Banks Presbyterian Church in North Carolina.
John had a love for music and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, but mostly he cherished his time spent with family.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 58 years, Helen; his children, John (Debra) Dick Jr., Dineen Carben and Marjorie (Simon) Rushbrook; his grandchildren, Christopher, Alexandria, Noah, Joshua and Ryan; he is also survived by a sister, Marjorie Wagner and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Dick Sr., and sister, Judith Arlow.
In keeping with John’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. I invite you to please privately celebrate John’s memory in your own ways.
