Joanne L. Richardson, of Greenville, passed away Friday evening, January 23, 2026, at her residence. She was 77.
Joanne was born in Greenville on February 23, 1948, a daughter of the late Robert W. and Margaret (Hyde) Scrivens, Sr. She was married to Donald E. Richardson on August 20, 1990, and she preceded her in death on March 16, 2025. Joanne had been employed by the former Greenville Regional Hospital and later by St. Paul’s Home, from which she retired. She had also been a cook at Steph’s Corner Pub and Grille in Greenville. Following her retirement, she worked as a home health care aide. She was an avid baker and is remembered for her wonderful Christmas cookies and enjoyed her swimming pool and having the grandchildren over for swim parties.
She is survived by her children, Christine Unger, Greenville and Lawrence Reigleman, Jr. and his wife Laurie, Greenville; a step son, Raymond Richardson and his wife Cathy, Greenville; three sisters, Margaret King and her husband William, Greenville, Hazel Sapala and her husband William, Hadley and Susan Wogish, Greenville; 7 grandchildren, Nicki (Brian) Mathieson, Angie (Tim) Roseberry, Mary Ellen Unger, Lance Reigleman, Jamie Unger, Sidney Richardson and Griffin Richardson and nine great grandchildren, Aubrey, Braylie, Ethan, Skylar, Adrian; Kyleigh, Hailey, Isaac and Preston.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister, Mary Brandon, and a brother, Robert W. Scrivens, Jr.
A Celebration of the life party for Joanne will be held from 2:00 - 4:00 PM on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at Steph's, 151 Main Street, Greenville.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 3223 Perry Hwy., Sheakleyiville.
