Jesse Dee Arnett II, age 82, of Cochranton, PA, passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday, January 9, 2024. He was born on April 22, 1941, in Reader (Piney), WV, to the late Jesse Dee and Lennie (Harris) Arnett.
Jesse attended Conneaut Lake High School, joined the US Army, and was stationed in Germany with the Operating Engineers. He was employed at Layne New York, and then Hydro Group of Cochranton, PA, for over 30 years as a master water well driller. He was a member of Reash Community Church. Jesse was active in the Purple Martin Association and enjoyed woodworking, working in metal, his workshop, gardening, his Church, and the Route 19 North community church fellowship, and sitting by his coal stove.
Jesse was blessed with three children: Laura Lee Marie Arnett, Dr. Jesse Dee Arnett III, Emerald (Emmy) Lynn Arnett, and grandchildren. His bonus daughter/family Patricia Oswald, her late husband John, and their three children: Dustin Oswald, Danielle Kennedy, and Larry Oswald. In addition, Jesse is also survived by a sister, Mona Tatomirovich; a brother, Dr. Charles Arnett; his sisters-in-law, Carol Talkington and Pearl Arnett; and his brother-in-law, Fred Cornell.
While we lost our most beloved Dad/Pops, many have lost a friend and loved one in him. He has been a rock to many, a prayer warrior, and a man of God. There was so much more to him than just dad, though to us, that was his greatest role - he was also a friend, and colleague, a cousin, brother, stand-in paternal figure to the fatherless, a welder and master craftsman, artist, the list goes on and on.
In addition to his parents, Jesse was preceded in death by his siblings, Sonny Arnett, John Talkington, Joe (Oris) Arnett, Bud Talkington, Jim Talkington, Anna Lou Cornell, and Roma Philips.
