Jean A. (Hyde) Alexander, formerly of Hadley, entered Heaven on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was 92.
Jean was born at home on August 8, 1933, to Luton and Ethel Hyde of Greenville. She graduated from Penn High School in 1953 and married the love of her life, Elton (Butch) Alexander Sr. on October 2, 1953. Jean was a homemaker and later worked as a secretary at Stoneboro Wesleyan School. She was a member of Zion Wesleyan Methodist Church. Among family and friends she was known for her cooking and baking of homemade cream pies, especially butterscotch.
Jean is survived by her husband, Elton, her daughters, Beverly (Mike) Zimmer of Polk, PA, Joy (Dan) Irvine of Central, SC, Melissa (Dan) Rose of Montana, and her son Elton (Patricia) Alexander Jr of Stoneboro, PA; 11 grandchildren, Randy Zimmer, Nathan (Julia) Alexander, Elizabeth Irvine (Justin) Petersen, Natalie Alexander (Barry) McLaughlin, Matthew (Anna) Irvine, Heather Irvine (Ben) McEuen, Rebecca Irvine (Joshua) Tolan, Brooke Irvine, Lane, Vernon and Kyle Homner; seven great grandchildren and one great great grandson.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Jim, Bill, John, Bob and George, sisters, Mary, Margaret, Ethel and twin sister Joan and a special grandson, Marcus.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 3223 Perry Hwy, Sheakleyville. Friends and family may call at the funeral home on Friday, January 17, 2025, from 3:00-6:00pm, and on Saturday 10:00-11:00 time of service. She will be laid to rest at Oak Grove Cemetery.
