Iva Charlene Turner, Cochranton, Deer Creek Twp., passed away Friday evening, March 7, 2025, at the Meadville Medical Center, Liberty Street. She was 87.
She was born in Meadville on April 25, 1937, a daughter to the late Albert and Lucille (Cochran) Herman.
On April 7, 1956, she married Kenneth W. Turner who preceded her in death on February 4, 2022. Charlene, along with helping her husband on the family farm, had been employed by the former Blazon, Jamestown and GTI, Hadley from where she retired. She enjoyed accompanying her husband to the Mercer Raceway for the Saturday night racing. Charlene took great pride in her gardening and tending to her floral beds. Her cat Sassy had a special place in her heart, and she enjoyed his companionship through the years. She attended the Mumford Chapel, Cochranton.
She is survived by her sons, Kenneth A. Turner, Cochranton, Garry L. Turner, Cochranton, and Larry A. (April)Turner, Sandy Lake; Two sisters, Reita Reese, Atlantic and Twila Schaef, Linesville Six grandchildren, Cody (Jade) Turner, Kyle (Savannah) Turner, Bradley and Brenton Turner, Austin (Harley) Turner and Lauren (Landyn) Artman and four great granddaughters, Charlee, Brynley, Bayley and Paisley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ken and a brother Donald Herman
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at 7:00 PM at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 3223 Perry Hwy., Sheakleyville with Michael Holley, pastor of the Clarks Mills Community Church officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband, Ken, at the Cochranton Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5:00 – 7:00 PM.
