Gary Duaine Yeager, New Vernon Twp., Clarks Mills, passed away Sunday evening at the UPMC, Hamot, Erie. He was 73.
He was born on March 23, 1949 in Geneva, a son of the late Wayne Duaine and Shirley (Beckdol) Yeager. On May 28, 1971, he married the former, Priscilla J. McGowan who survives. Mr. Yeager had served with the US Army during the Korean Conflict as a DMZ police officer with Company B, 2nd Battalion, 9th Infantry, 2nd Infantry Division. He had been employed by the former Greenville Steel Car, Trinity Industries, Supreme Manufacturing, Stoneboro and the US Railroad Car, Mercer from where he had retired. He was of the Methodist faith, enjoyed hunting and fishing, and also worked at the family farm where he had raised beef cattle.
In addition to his wife, Priscilla, he is survived by a son, Shawn (Beth) Yeager, Clarks Mills: two daughters, Dianna Yeager, Clarks Mills, and Cindy (Kevin) Clark, Clarks Millls; two brothers, Jack (Shirley) Yeager, Sandy Lake and Bruce (Deb) Yeager, Clarks Mills; a sister in law, Sherry Yeager, Clarks Mills; 9 grandchildren, Hunter, Shane and Chance Yeager, Marshall and Liam Clark, Heather (Rocky) Yasko, Kara (PJ) Ames, Julia (John) Amon and Shawna (Corey) Wilfong and 6 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Dennis Yeager and a sister, Dolores Yeager.
The funerals service will be held on Friday, October 14, 2022, at 11:00 am at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 3223 Perry Hwy., Sheakleyville. He will be laid to rest at the Hadley Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 2:00 – 4:00 pm and 6:00 – 8:00 pm.
