Gary Byers Obituary

Gary Byers, 76, of Saegertown, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Monday, October 16, 2023.

Gary was a Christmas baby, born December 25, 1946, a son of Harry and Doris (Wright) Byers. He married Diane Palmer on July 10, 1976. She preceded him in death on September 13, 2010.

Gary worked many years ar American Viscoe Company (Avtex), prior to its closure in 1990. He went on to work at Dahlkempers and Molded Fiberglass, where he retired in 2013.

Gary enjoyed working outside, mowing his grass and tinkering in his gardens. But he enjoyed nothing more than attending his grandchildren’s events. He was a very proud Papa.

Gary is survived by two daughters, Jamie Nale of Saegertown, and Lisa Renwick and her husband, Ryan, of Jamestown; grandchildren, Matthew and Alayna Nale and Seth and Brynlee Renwick; his special furry companion, Sadie; as well nieces and nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents and wife, Gary was preceded in death by brother-in-laws, Brian and Steve Palmer; and his father- and mother-in-law, Harold and Virginia Palmer.

Arrangements are private and under the direction of Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home, Sheakleyville.  Gary will be laid to rest next to his wife, Diane at the Hadley Cemetery,
