Frank Gargasz Obituary

Frank G. Gargasz, Greenville, Otter Creek Twp. passed away early Friday morning, April 25, 2025, with his family by his side at the Villas at St. Paul’s Senior Living Community, Greenville. He was 73.  Frank was surrounded by his family all day, everyday while at the St. Paul's Home.

He was born in Grove City on June 13, 1951, a son to the late Frank and Geraldine Mae (Thompson) Gargasz.  On July 12, 1986, he married the former Sharon A. Cleckner, who survives. He had been employed as a tool and die maker for General Motors, Packard Electric Division, retiring in 1999.

Frank relished the opportunity to be outdoors. He was an avid hunter, with a special passion for bow and turkey hunting, and enjoyed fishing, camping, and hiking. His skillful hands built three homes and remodeled an older farmhouse. There was nothing he couldn't fix, a testament to his creative spirit and capability.

His planting trees and gardening abilities evidenced his love of the outdoors. He always enjoyed getting together with his family and friends, often ending such gatherings with a joyous hayride.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon; six children, Nick (Nicole) Gargasz, Orlando, FL, Jenny (James) Stringert, Clarks Mills, Jimmy (Bonnie) Benton, Hermitage, Vanessa (Ross) Niemi, St. Paul’s, MN, Frank (Reagan) Gargasz, Hermitage and Ashley Gargasz, Hermitage; a brother, Tommy (Jodi) Gargasz, Sr., Pulaski; two sisters, Karol “Sue” (Matt) Boles, Grove City and Lori (Brett) Udy, Grove City and nine grandchildren, Shayna Cropp, Nathan Stringert, Caleb Benton, Audrey Benton, Jordan DeCarmen, Mason Porada, Nash Porada, Lochlan McAdams and Ace McAdams.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bill Gargasz.
