Francis "Ike" M. Ongley

Francis M. “Ike” Ongley, Greenwood Twp., Atlantic passed away Friday afternoon, May 31, 2024, at the Meadville Medical Center, Liberty Street.  He was 70.

He was born in Meadville on December 29, 1953, a son of the late Myron Francis and Donna (Luzier) Ongley.  On January 30, 1976, he married the former Mabel E. Ekis who preceded him in death on October 8, 2012.   Ike, as he was known to his family and friends, had been employed by Aero Forge, Meadville for 33 years.   He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a former member of the Meadville VFW Post 2006 and Vernon Central Hose Company, Station 23.

He is survived by his children, Myron Ongley, Atlantic, Ryan (Christine) Ongley, Cochranton and Linda (Mike) McCullough, Hadley, and 6 grandchildren, Kurt Ongley, Sam Alford, Jacob Ongley, Daisy Ongley, Danielle McCullough and Caleb McCullough.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mabel, and two brothers, Harry Ongley and Daniel Ongley.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 3223 Perry Hwy., Sheakleyville with Pastor Curtis Brenizer of the Milledgeville Community Church officiating.  Ike will be laid to rest next to his wife at the Greenfield Cemetery, family and friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM.
