Francis W. McManamon, Fredonia (Fairview Twp.) passed away early Saturday morning, November 4, 2023, at the UPMC - Horizon, Greenville.  He was 83.

He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on August 23, 1940, a son of the late Francis William and Mary (Warrick) McManamon, Sr.  He graduated in 1959 from the Commodore Perry High School and soon after enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served proudly and honorably with the Headquarters Battery 5th Battalion, 6 Artillery, with one year serving in Germany. He had been employed at Cooper Bessemer, Grove City then went on to work for the former GTI, Hadley where he retired after 40 years of service.  Following his retirement, he worked part-time for several years at Pine Instruments.   Mr. McManamon had taken several courses to be a licensed electrician at the Mercer County Vo-Tech and also attended the New Castle School of Trades for his water treatment license.

In his younger years, he enjoyed drag racing with his friend, George in Erie, PA, and always was a sprint car enthusiast. He also enjoyed riding in his self-built dune buggy with all his family and brothers-in-law on weekends.  He was of the Christian faith and enjoyed the lunches at the Fredonia Presbyterian church.  He was especially fond of the moments he could share with his family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis whom he married on October 17, 1963, his children, Dale (Geneva) McManamon, Fredonia, and Cindy Uhrin, Greenville, 4 grandchildren, Mandy (CJ) Elliott, Apex, N.C., Meghan (Steven) Graybeal, Mooresville, NC, Caleb McManamon, Mooresville, NC and Madison Uhrin, Greenville and 4 great-grandchildren, Eleanora, Liam, Hudson Graybeal, and Amelie Elliott.
