Enos Fisher Obituary
Enos W. Fisher, Greenville, Otter Creek Twp. passed away Wednesday evening, July 9, 2025 at his residence. He was 89.
He was born in Atlantic, PA on February 28, 1936, a son to the late William and Emma (Wengard) Fisher. In 1956 he married the former, Shirley Davis who preceded him in death on December 23, 1991. He had been employed by the Bessemer Railroad, Greenville, for over 30 years as a yard foreman and brakeman. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trapping and was a past president and life member of the Mercer County Coon Hunters Association. He was a member of the Chapel at Mercer and the Fredonia American Legion Post # 919. His K-9 companion, Ellie, was his faithful and constant companion.
He is survived by his three daughters, Janette ( Frederick) Scriven, Sr, Hadley, Naomi Bortner, Sharpsville and Alice (Tony) Castillo, Strongsville, OH; one brother, Lester (Clara) Fisher, West Farmington, OH; five grandchildren, Sherry Christner – McCoy, Frederick Scriven, Jr., Jeffrey Skakalski, Norman, Skakalski and Robert Bortner; 18 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a son, Jeremiah William Louis Fisher; two grandsons, Scott Skakalski, Jr. and Jeremiah Christner. Seven brothers, Eli Fisher, William Fisher, Mahlon Fisher, Samuel Fisher, Neil Fisher, Harvey Fisher, and Henry Fisher, and one sister, Melinda Miller.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, July 14, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Chapel at Mercer, 300 S. Pitt Street, Mercer, with pastor David Robinson officiating. He will be laid to rest at the Hadley Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Sunday, July 13, 2025, from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 3223 Perry Hwy., Sheakleyville, and at the church on Monday from 9:00 – 11:00 AM.
