Elmer E. Ansell, Greenville (Salem Twp.) passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 28, 2020 at his residence. He was 71.
He was born in Greenville on January 14, 1949 a son of the late Roy E. and Evelin P. (Barkley) Ansell. Elmer had been a Sergeant with the U.S. Army having served during the Vietnam Era. He had been employed by PPG, Meadville from which he retired. He had a passion for restoring and working on antique tractors of which he owned many. He was a member of the Mercer County Antique Power Association and the Greenville VFW Post # 3374.
He is survived by his fiancé, Dianne J. Thompson, Hadley; a daughter, Jamie Ansell and her husband Elliot Ralston, Hillards; two sons, Brian Ansell and his wife Elizabeth, Shawnee, Kansas and Evan Ansell and his girlfriend, Christine Bowser, Greenville; 3 sisters, Barbara Ball and her husband James, Hadley, Linda M. Bishara and her husband Dr. Munier, Duncanville, TX and and Millie Jackson, OH; 2 brothers, George Ansell and his wife Alice, Greenville and Jerry Ansell and his wife Marsha, Fredonia; 3 grandchildren, Gweneth and Gavin Ansell and Rachel Ansell.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 8 sisters, Esther Manross, Bertha Berk, Helen Freedman, Kitty Hilland, Stella Redfoot, Dorothy Ansell, Mary Reimold and Thelma Ansell; 3 brothers, Clarence Ansell, James Ansell and Edward Ansell.
Due to the current COVID 19 restrictions, private family services will be held with John Canon, pastor of the Jerusalem Christian Church officiating.
