Elfriede G. (Klose) Newman

Elfriede G. (Klose) Newman, formerly of Fairview Twp, Fredonia passed away at the St. Pauls’ Home, Greenville Monday evening, March 18, 2019.  She was 92.

She was born in Trebnitz, Silesia, Germany on November 2, 1926, on February 29, 1951, in Stuttgart, Germany she married John F. Newman and then came to the United States as his young bride.  John had preceded her in death on October 22, 2010

Elfriede was an avid gardener and was a talented artist.  She had worked for Nelsons’ Flowers and had created many beautiful creative arrangements.

She survived by her children, Christine Krupinski, Cincinnati, Ursala Amon, Grove City and John W. Newman, Jacksonville, NC., a special friend, Nancy Newman, Hermitage; 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Michael Thomas Newman ; a sister Rose Wagner and a brother Erich Klose

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at the St. Columbkille Roman Catholic Church, 70 Franklin Street, Stoneboro with Rev. Robert Manning, Celebrant.  Elfriede will be laid to rest next to her husband at the St. Columbkille Roman Catholic Cemetery.  Arrangements he been entrusted to the Robert L.
