Donald J. Lackey, Stoneboro, New Vernon Twp. passed away Thursday evening at 10:02 PM at the UPMC, Horizon Greenville, with his family by his side. He was 72.
He was born in Greenville on September 2, 1953, a son of the late John W. and Elvirda Belle (Griffin) Lackey. On May 14, 1983, he married the former Deborah A. Vorp, who survives.
Don had been employed for over 35 years at the R.D. Werner Company in Greenville and then retired from Pittsburgh Glass Works (PGW) in Meadville after 10 years of service. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed boating on Stoneboro Lake. In his leisure time, he enjoyed woodworking, reading, and playing video games.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Deborah, his children, Jamie Stefko and her husband Paul, Pittsburgh, Matthew Lackey and his wife (Jessica), Arvada, CO. and Ian Lackey and his wife (Leslie), Saegertown; two brothers, William Lackey and his wife Dorothy, Hadley and Raymond, Lackey and his wife Virginia, Caledonia, MI, a sister in-law, Anne Lackey, Hadley; 1 granddaughter, Isabelle Claire Lackey and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Andrew Lackey, and a brother, Larry Lackey.
A memorial visitation will be held on December 29, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 3223 Perry Hwy., Sheakleyville.
